School Uniform

St. John’s has its own distinctive uniform. We believe that besides being practical clothing for school, it helps to give the children a feeling of identity and pride in their school.  We hope that all clothing worn in school will adhere to the school colours of navy blue, gold, grey and white. All clothing worn to school should be clearly marked with your child’s name.

*yellow strips are permitted when it is difficult to obtain gold striped dresses

Shirts and ties - shirts need to be tucked into trousers and skirts; top buttons need to done up and ties should be of a medium sized knot. 

For PE all children will need:

• White T shirt
• White or navy shorts
• Black plimsolls
• Trainers for outside games (KS2)
• Navy tracksuit for outdoor PE in cold weather
• PE bag with a long-handle and a draw-string (NOT rucksack or similar) 

Optional

• School blazer and school scarf
• All uniform is available from Hewitts of Croydon, Church Street, Croydon.

SJSA

The following items are available from St. John’s School Association (SJSA):

• Book Bag  
• Eco Bag (long handled cloth bag)
• Drawstring PE Bag    
• Hats

Hair and accessories

All hair bands, ribbons, scrunchies etc. should be plain and in school colours, i.e. gold or navy.  Elaborate hairstyles (including patterned cuttings, hair extensions and beads) are not allowed.

Jewellery

No jewellery (including all ear-rings) or nail varnish is to be worn.
