Dear Readers,
St. John’s School Council help to keep all of the children at St. John’s healthy, safe and most importantly happy. All children are involved in the School Council through their class representatives who attend regular fortnightly meetings. We take suggestions from each class and make sure that everybody has a voice at St. John’s.
One of the activities that we do is to introduce and organise appeals for charity in school. For example, this year one of the things we have fundraised for was for Haiti after the terrible earthquake. The whole school worked together for a ‘Help Haiti’ week and we raised over £700!
We are currently forming links with a school in Kenya (St. Phillips) and have had a recent visit from Bishop Mule. We donated a range of stationery gifts to help improve the learning and we hope to have more links with the children in the school there.
In the near future we are looking forward to expanding our School Council to include representatives from Reception. We have lots of new and exciting ideas and events planned so stay tuned for more information!
